Biographical Sketch

Nephtaly Joel Botor is a licensed values education teacher, guidance facilitator and faculty member at the Department of Human and Family Development Studies, University of the Philippines Los Baños. He engages in research and extension work relevant to community and ecological counseling, disaster resilience, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), gender and sexuality, and adolescent development. He is also a disaster mental health advocate as member of the Citizens' Network for Psychosocial Response and an active psychosocial responder especially after the typhoon Haiyan in post-disaster communities in the Visayas. His primary interest is to ensure psychological well-being of families and individuals in disaster-prone areas by building upon their psychological preparedness, character strengths, and individual and family resilience through trainings and psycho-education.
