Theoretical and Mixed Methodological Frameworks for Research on Climate Change Resiliencies

ABSTRACT

The Global Environmental Fund - Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF) provided support for the development and demonstration of effective approaches and adaptive measures to increase the country’s resilience to climate change through the Philippine Climate Change Adaptation Project. Among its components is a study on climate change adaptation knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) among farmers and stakeholders. The chapter discusses the theoretical and methodological frameworks constructed and adopted to benchmark public awareness and knowledge on climate change adaptation practices and technologies. These frameworks are consistent with the social science tradition and have served as a guide for the development of a toolkit for the benchmarking, monitoring and evaluation of climate change adaptation KAP. Proposed methodological tools such as a Climate Change Adaptation Scorecard form part of the chapter.
