Presentation Abstract: Effective natural resources management and planning require innovative approaches to ensure sustainability and resilience. This talk explores the integration of spatial thinking into these disciplines, highlighting how geospatial technologies and methodologies can enhance decision-making processes. Several research projects have demonstrated the effectiveness of spatial analysis and geospatial technologies in areas such as resource mapping, the development of watershed-based land use plans, the quantification and accounting of ecosystem services, and ecosystem-based community assessments for nature-based solutions. These technologies have provided deeper insights into resource distribution, ecosystem dynamics, and human impacts.
