UPRI’s participation in the technical working group is in application of its mandate to provide technical knowledge and advisory support to policymakers in DRR-CCAM.
UPRI delivered a lecture titled “Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: An Overview” to a group of 20 students from various colleges in UP Diliman, last March 2.
Ms. Trixie Delmendo discussed flooding and showed how hazard maps can be used as a guide in enacting policies that can strengthen the province’s resilience and reduce the risk brought about by flood.
Mr. Ongkiko, Project Manager of the UPRI- Institution Building served as the resource person in the UPLB- NSTP decentralized College Instruction and 25-hour common module lecture last 10 and 24 February 2020. This event was in compliance with the implementing rules and regulation of R.A 9163 (NSTP Act of 2002) and participated by more than 1000 freshmen students (Batch Feb 10 – 250 students, Feb 24 morning session 340 students and Feb 24 afternoon session 440 students) coming from the different colleges and enrolled with the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
