WHO WE ARE

The Institution Building Office aims to improve the capability of the UP System as an agent of change for disaster resilience in the Philippines and the Pacific Rim region. Our team has been conducting capacity building activities with regard to disaster resilience since 2019.

In particular, we conduct training activities and workshops on DRRM-related initiatives. This includes crafting Public Service Continuity Plans (PSCP), developing Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPPs), and the conduct of drills for different hazards. Although primarily directed to the UP System and UP Constituent University (CU) Offices, these services are also provided to external public and private organizations.

Our office also leads in the establishment or institutionalization of Resilience Hubs across all UP CUs which taps into expertise, niche, strengths, and unique interests of UP units and prospective partner institutions. Through strengthened collaboration and coordination, these hubs will play a critical role in knowledge sharing and the technical implementation of climate and disaster resilience programs in service to the nation.

We have been involved in several disaster response activities which includes, but is not limited to; post disaster needs assessment, emergency shelter operations, and donation drives for areas affected by natural hazards all over the country.
