Five-Day Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) Workshop for the Province of Aklan
The five-day workshop aimed to introduce the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) to the local government units (LGUs) of the Province of Aklan. This workshop is also structured in a way that the LGUs can proceed with the formulation of the CDRA using their learnings from the workshop.
Activities done:
1. Discussed the need and significance of science-based CDRA
2. Introduced basic concepts of CDRA
3. Explained and demonstrated the steps in conducting CDRA
4. Introduced the use of Geographic Information System in the conduct of CDRA
5. Generated hazard inventory matrix and impact chain diagram
6. Conducted Preliminary exposure database
7. Reviewed existing land use map and availability of other GIS files of each municipality
8. Provided recommendations on how to improve existing data in order to facilitate the continuance of the conduct of CDRA
