Revisiting A.H.A.! Handaan Na: Spaces for Eco-friendly Concessionaires

A.H.A. Handaan Na! envisioned a community-led initiative in approaching climate change starting from food and nutrition – how this phenomenon is anchored on the plates in our table. In the efforts to engage the community, concessionaires were carefully selected and invited to take part in the event. These include Hyacel from Barangay Palaris, who sold palabok and lugaw; Maginhawa Eco-Store, a podcast speaker; and the Persons With Determination (PWD), referred to by a member of the Samahang Manininda ng UP Campus.

Maginhawa Eco-store is known for their eco-friendly products, such as soaps and dishwashing liquid. It is managed by Dakila Cutab, invited to A.H.A.! May Podcast! who shared insights on how to merge business with eco-friendly and sustainable practices Meanwhile, the Persons With Determination of Barangay UP Campus sold numerous upcycled bags. The excess fabric that they used for the bags came from clothes donated following the fire incident in Barangay Palaris. Hyacel who sold hot meals also comes from the same barangay. Fisherfolks’ organization, Pamalakaya, also set up the Bulungan: Fisher’s Market with supplies coming from Rizal, Navotas, and Cavite.

The event successfully concluded last June 25, 2025 at the Parola Gallery, UP College of Fine Arts.
