Championing CCA and DRRM Initiatives: The UP Resilience Institute and the Department of Foreign Affairs Office of the Undersecretary for Security and Civilian Affairs (DFA OUSCA) on January 26, 2023 held an exploratory meeting to discuss future cooperation, grants sourcing, project execution, and local and international lobbying for sound and science-based Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) mechanisms and institutional trainings.

The meeting was attended by UPRI Executive Director Alfredo Mahar Francisco Lagmay, Director of Institution Building (IB) Division, Prof. Genaro Cuaresma, and representatives of Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards (NOAH), Research and Creative Works Division (RCW) and Education Division. On the DFA side, Undersecretary for Security and Civilian Affairs (OUSCA) Ambassador Gary Domingo and Assistant Secretary for OUSCA Ambassador Alan Deniega.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between UP Resilience Institute and the Department of Foreign Affairs is underway to further buttress the cooperation between the Institution in championing initiatives that are geared towards being prepared and resilient in facing the changes brought about by Climate Change.
