The UP Resilience Institute – Institution Building Division (UPRI-IB) led by its Director, Prof. Genaro Cuaresma conducted an exploratory meeting (July 13, 2023) with representatives from UP Baguio led by Dean Leah Abayao, Ph.D., for the possible establishment of a UPRI affiliate hub in the university.
The UP Baguio representatives had a profound discussion with the UPRI-IB. Prof. Cuaresma discussed the experiences and projects of the established UPRI hubs: UP Los Baños – Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Integrated Natural Resources and Environment Management (INREM) and UP Mindanao – Center for Disease Watch and Analytics (DiWA).
They have laid down their existing research and programs from various disciplines tackling disaster resilience. They have expressed their sincere interest and commitment to establishing an affiliate hub in UP Baguio. The UPRI anticipates the development and proposal of UP Baguio’s hub.
