The UP Resilience Institute (UPRI) participated in the Green Award Awarding Ceremony held on November 13, 2025, at the QC MICE Center. This annual event recognizes outstanding efforts in building safer, greener, and more resilient communities through inclusive and sustainable initiatives.Before the awarding ceremony itself, two representatives from UPRI Institution Building Division, Mr Jose Abraham Ongkiko and Ms Jerzyne Anne Corpuz, served as part of the core panel of judges. They worked alongside evaluators from non-government organisations (NGOs), civil society organisations (CSOs), people’s organisations (POs), and nano-enterprises, as well as representatives from barangays, schools, businesses, hospitals, and youth groups. The Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte delivered her opening remarks, emphasizing the city’s continued commitment to championing green innovation and community-driven resilience initiatives. She highlighted the importance of recognizing grassroots champions and institutional partners who contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more climate-resilient Quezon City.
