The construction of the building was supported by Sen. Osmena and other senators, providing P30 million from their Priority Development Assistance Funds (Napallacan & Rosell, 2011).

Inaugurated in January 2013, the campus offers degree programs such as Business Administration, Masters of Science in Computer Science, Master of Education and the only school to offer Master of Science in Environmental Studies, which is the center of development (Fernandez, 2016).

The campus is currently exposed to the following hazards: seismic hazards, flood, severe wind and a storm surge. On the other hand, the location of the UP campus eliminates its exposure to landslides, tsunami and volcanic hazards; thus not included in the hazard assessment.
