In celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month this coming July, we bring back the Basics of Resilience massive open online course (MOOC)! A collaborative program between the UP Open University (UPOU), UPOU Faculty of Management & Development Studies, and the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute, the Basics of Resilience online course will be offered once again through UPOU’s Open and Distance Learning modality. This online course is designed for anyone interested in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation (DRR-CCA). It can be taken as a standalone course or may be credited towards a formal UP graduate program. This is just the first of three microcredential courses we plan to release this year so stay tuned for future updates!
To enroll, log in to your MODel account and click the Basics of Resilience course. If you don’t have a MODeL account yet, follow these steps:
1. Fill out the registration form: https://url.upou.edu.ph/upoumodel-signup
Note: Login credentials are sent every THURSDAY until 4 PM on Wednesdays.
Requests after the cut-off will be processed the following week.
2. Sign in to your new MODeL account upon receiving the email.
3. Change your password to a strong, unique one.
Note: Registration to MODeL is NOT equal to your enrollment to the course.
