
On February 4, 2026, the UP Resilience Institute, Institution Building (UPRI-IB) Division met with the College of Social Work and Community Development (CSWCD) to discuss the updates on the college’s Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP).
During the meeting, UPRI presented key updates to the EPP, including additional information in the organizational structure and emergency response protocols for fire and bomb-threat hazards. The upcoming National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) Quarter 1 was discussed as well, with CSWCD responding positively to the activity.
The meeting included a discussion of the hosting arrangements for the upcoming fire orientation and drill activities. The CSWCD indicated its willingness to participate in the scheduled fire drill. Furthermore, the requests for training and immersion for drill observers were fully addressed, and members of the Incident Management Team also expressed their intent to participate in the immersion.
Overall, the meeting strengthened collaboration between UPRI and CSWCD, reinforcing the college’s commitment to preparedness and active participation in resilience-building initiatives. Further coordination will continue to ensure the successful implementation of the updated EPP and scheduled drill activities.
