The UP Resilience Institute (UPRI) and the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG) held an NSED Briefer Meeting on February 20, 2026, to coordinate preparations for the upcoming National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) scheduled for March 12, 2026. The primary goal of the meeting was to ensure readiness for the drill by aligning expectations and clarifying roles.

During the session, UPRI’s Institution Building (IB) Division presented its mandate and functions, focusing on its role in strengthening institutional resilience across the University. A detailed review of the updated Emergency Preparedness Plan was conducted, highlighting changes to the organizational structure and operational flow. Key preparatory activities were discussed, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT) Orientation Training set for March 5, 2026, one week before the NSED. Logistical arrangements were also reviewed, such as the plan to use Monday.com for real-time headcounts and reporting, and the established communication mechanisms for the drill.

A critical focus of the meeting was clarifying the distinct roles and responsibilities of both NCPAG and UPRI in implementing the earthquake drill. Emphasis was placed on coordinated execution, accountability, and strict adherence to emergency protocols to guarantee a safe and organized activity.

The meeting was successful and concluded positively, with both UPRI and NCPAG confirming their continued commitment to coordination to ensure the NSED’s successful implementation.
